The Paramedic Education Program is organized into four “blocks” of courses.  Each course within the Program has its own overview and syllabus.  Details are located on the links for each block below this Program overview:

    • Catalog Description: This program prepares graduates for entry-level positions wherever paramedics are employed. Graduates are eligible to test for the National Registry of EMTs certification as a pathway to their state licensure. Individual courses within the program provide the student the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and professional approaches necessary for their success in the field. Extensive use of scenarios and simulation enhances the learning. Students will complete clinical experiences within the hospital setting as well as a capstone field internship where they will demonstrate their abilities to lead the prehospital care team while serving on an actual ambulance crew.
    • Prerequisites:   EMS 050-053 (the “EMT Program”) or valid Missouri EMT License
